French Art Deco Chandelier with globes
Item #1413 SOLD
It is amazing what you find sometimes when you take your time and really clean these old fixtures up. This is a piece I bought thinking I would have it all re-plated. We took some time and with a lot of elbow grease, underneath the aged patina, we found this most fantastic copper color. You can see for yourself this combination of brass and copper. What a nice warm look. Beautiful solid wood center rail with 6 matching stylized deco leave pattern arms. On top of each arm is this sculptural figure and profile of an art deco stylized nude woman feeding her friendly gazelle. This is a special piece, there are some numbers on the metal, but you can tell it was not designed for the masses. The glass is also very interesting a nice opalescent color which is also referred to as icicle glass because it looks like ice is frozen with its contrasting clear and frosted technique. A very nice original piece.
