These lamps are dated back to the 1930s and are documented in the Adnet book (model 7706). This pair is in exceptional condition, having undergone metal polishing, fabric rewiring, switch replacement, vintage style plug addition, and the rare Baccarat glass all polished. These lamps are an excellent investment and a stylish addition to any home. They come with new black fabric shades, gold lining, and gold bulb fitters.
Jacques Adnet, one of the most elegant and innovative French furniture designers of the 20th century, crafted a signature style that is both simple and robust. Starting his career in the Art Deco era, Adnet later collaborated with Hermès in the 1950s to create chairs, lamps, desks, and other pieces featuring slender metal frames clad in stitched saddle leather. With this approach, Adnet infused design and decor with a fashion-forward sensibility reminiscent of Paul Poiret’s influence on design in the 1920s.
Jacques Adnet (1900–1984)
French architect and designer combined geometric simplicity with elegance in his designs. This lamp is a testament to this. At the peak of his artistic career, he decorated the private apartments of the French President at the Elysée Palace and the meeting room of the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
