Michel Polak Belgian Cabinet Display Case

Belgian Cabinet Display Case Designed by famed Swiss architect Michel Polak (1885-1948) and most likely manufactured by Joseph de Coene. Brussels, 1930-35. Handy and useful cabinet with lots o storage and a double glass center display. Rosewood and black ebonized doors with all original hardware.

 

He is also known as the architect of the Villa Empain design but also of the Résidence Palace (today the International Press Centre and the Council of the European Union), the George Eastman Dental Institute (today the House of European History), and the headquarters of the Régie des Téléphones et des Télégraphes (today the administration of the French Community Commission).

 Villa Empain

 

 

The Villa Empain designed  by Architect Michel Polak 1931-34. In 2008, the Fondation Boghossian acquired the Villa Empain and initiated an extensive renovation program. Inaugurated in 2010, the villa is a cultural centre and hosts art exhibitions, concerts and conferences.
