Art Deco Philco RadioBar is a highly sought-after piece cherished by both radio and bar enthusiasts. Originating during the Prohibition Era, a time marked by a fascination with hidden liquor bars, this design peaked in 1936. The RadioBar comes complete with forty-one pieces of glassware, including 32 in 5 different sizes, 6 decanters (gin, vermouth, whiskey, brandy, scotch, bourbon), and 2 cocktail shakers (one original and one complimentary silver-banded tall shaker, along with one very rare bitters bottle). All glassware in this bar is original, except for four of the larger stepped glasses, which have been replaced with four martini/gimlet-style silver-banded stems. All vintage glassware is showcased in the listing. The cabinet features a variety of burl woods, rosewoods, ebonized woods, and unique metal accents. Additionally, the radio has been recently restored and is poised for another 50 years of enjoyment.

This RadioBar design is the most coveted, boasting numerous enhancements. It features etched details in the mirror, more ornate Bakelite knobs for the radio, center doors that open up, and a more elaborate wood treatment incorporating multiple material elements. Additionally, it is the largest size, allowing for the maximum amount of glassware, including two round ice buckets and the locked lower prohibition storage area. The exterior wood restorations are of the highest quality.

The radio chassis has been thoroughly tested, restored, and equipped with a 1/8-inch adapter, enabling you to connect it to your iPhone, smartphone, iPod, or record player. You can access your old vinyl collection or stream from Pandora, Apple Music, or your computer playlist to enjoy your favorite tunes. Utilize the Bluetooth connection to bring a tube amplifier’s warm, bright analog sound to any music or recordings you choose. In addition to the high-style design and the uniquely amusing combination of a radio and a bar, the Radiobar is featured in many movies of the period as an iconic symbol of luxury. You’ll find it in the Bogart/ Cagney film “Angels with Dirty Faces” and taking center stage in” Gold Diggers of 1933″ when Joan Blondell and Warren Williams meet in her stylish Art Deco Flat.
