1938 Zenith “WALTON” 12-S-232 Shutter Dial Tombstone Art Deco Radio in pristine restored condition. The most sought after of all of these old radios and displayed on the popular television program “The Waltons”.  This 9 tube Zenith is GORGEOUS!!  These radios continue to appreciate in value, as they are scarce and offer a dramatic quality of sound. The condition of the cabinet is remarkable with an original finish with a tiny measure of touch up  This is a real deluxe Walton model. It plays very well and will provide years of enjoyment!

The speaker cloth is original and in terrific condition for its 80+ year life, and the knobs the iconic factory original "Z" wood knobs. The paper tag on the underside is still present at about 95%. The motor works perfectly in both directions. My tech has replaced all of the components required to update the radio and ensure that you enjoy problem-free ownership. He has completely disassembled the shutter dials and cleaned and oiled them for smooth operation. Add the huge flywheel to the tuning and you have the finest of accurate tuning. We replaced the dead eye tube with a super-sensitive 6E5 eye tube. He also has added a mini-jack allowing you to connect to an external device. Use your phone, pad, or computer to allow you an unlimited choice of content.

A reprint of the original owners and operational booklet is included.

1938 Zenith "WALTON" 9-S-232 Shutter Dial Tombstone Art Deco Radio

We have added a mini-jack allowing you to connect to an external device. This will allow you an unlimited choice of content which will allow you to use this with your iPhone, smartphone, iPods or record player. Access your old vinyl, or log on to  Pandora, Apple Music or the playlist on your computer to provide the tunes and use the Bluetooth connection to bring the warm, bright, analog sound of a tube amplifier to any music or recordings you choose. The quality of the sound is excellent – just ask any guitarist since these kinds of tube-based amps are still being made and used today. You will have the best of “digital” and “analog” combined.
