The Manning Bowman Company was founded in Connecticut in 1832 and became a famous maker of metalware products for the home. Beginning with goods made of tin, they later developed items in copper, silver, granite, catalin and brass. In the Art Deco Period, the late 1920s through the 1940s, they created some of the most dynamic pieces of barware, electrical appliances and kitchenware ever manufactured in the highly polished chrome that was so emblematic of Machine Age Style.
This clock is presented in excellent condition, with shiny surfaces, perfect and without pitting or scratches. The working clock has a stylish face , great lettering and hands. But the crowning glory is the original decorative finial at the top of the clock…a nod to the Chrysler building and skyscrapers of the era. Picture this in your penthouse !
