A vase made in France and imported especially for Ovington’s of New York. Gilded and rust geometric designs on a cream ”craquele ” background with the signature embellishment that is different on each side as you turn the vase .
Ovington Brothers was a Brooklyn Store specializing in fine china and household accessories – founded in =1843 and continuing until 1909 when it became simply ” Ovington’s” and was run by family members of the original brother that founded the company. They dealt in beautiful pieces imported from Europe with an emphasis on decorative tableware and elegant gifts.
Although the maker is not marked and the signature bears, instead, the name Ovingtons New York – Made in France we have other pieces in our collection with exactly the same treatment- and some are marked Boch and others simply say France
