Longwy French Ceramic Cloisonné Art Deco Coffee Tea Suite. Perfect original condition with all matching pieces. Octagon shaped  Large tray, Coffee or Tea dispenser with creamer, sugar, and a pair of matching cups and saucers. Very beautiful suite of matching pieces, all meant to go together. Possibly originally given as a wedding or anniversary gift.  Cloisonné is a technique is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with colored material held in place or separated by metal strips or wire, normally of gold. The ceramic Cloisonné which was developed by the French was an adaptation using a ceramic material, applied hand-coloring the enamel paint.

 

Longwy was famous for this and was producing all kinds of home and commercial products through many design eras from late 1800 through the 1980s. Also, the company Boch Freres of Belgium was also doing a similar treatment with the ceramic cloisonné technique. Most pieces are stamped with the vintage historic Longwy logo.
