Art deco bronze crouching panther is ready to lunge forth in all its glory. The jungle cats were an important motif in the deco era as the sylphlike nude female sculpture and in perfect contrast, as these masculine symbols are rendered with strength and even anger in their posture and on their faces, These animal sculptures emblematic of the Art Deco period have been rendered in many ways.
This one unsigned but unmistakenly similar to the French artist Secondo and mounted on a beautiful rose/red-veined marble base.
