Art Deco Sculpture of Man with Boat by Le Verrier
Item #2316 SOLD
An Art Deco Sculpture showing great strength in a depiction of a man pulling his row boat from the sand. This striking work done and signed by Max Le Verrier in the late 1920s France is especially dynamic .
Notice the musculature of the man, the interplay of the base with its sand like texture agains the smooth skin of the subject. Even just seeing the way his carefully sculpted hands and feet press against the row boat and the beachfront is impressive. The green tone with hidden rust colored underlay gives it a perfect patina.
A clear and emphatic signature of Max Le Verrier lets you know that this was done by one of the Masters of Art Deco. This piece was made in two sizes, this is the much larger and more rare size. Measurements below.
