Art Nouveau Silver and Glass Centerpiece by WMF

Item #2298 SOLD

An Art Nouveau centerpiece in silver and glass was “on trend” in the early part of the 20th Century. Every fashionable home of the period would have had something like this filled with flowers or fruit to make a lavish display on a table top or fireplace mantle. This beauty by the Wurttemberg Metal Goods Factory (most often referred to as WMF)  in Germany was created in the early 1900s.

The glass insert is removable and the condition of both glass and silver is excellent. The classic Jugendstil embellishment makes this piece equally at home in an Art Deco environment.  Centerpieces have become a new “speciality ” of ours, having sold several this year so we are happy to see them back “on trend”.

Our suggestion?  Fill it up with French Macarons or and English Trifle

and delight your guests with an unusual presentation for a very  fancy dessert.
