Dinanderie Art Deco Pair of Vases Series Evolution by Paul Mergier

Item #3590

Dinanderie Art Deco Pair of Vases Series Evolution by Paul Mergier. Engraved with Evolution mark of descending triangles each numbered as a set 365/1805 each inlaid with linear and geometric motifs. Attributed to Paul Louis Mergier (1891-1986) who designed many works for the Evolution series in the 1920′s -30s all in the French Art Deco dinanderie style.

The dinanderie technique, founded in the Flemish town of Dunant hundreds of years ago involves the hand-shaping and inlay of metal (including brass, copper, and bronze) into various objects. Condition overall good, considering their age with a few tiny surface indents in each piece, hard to see directly.
