Art Nouveau or Jugendstil was an international movement spreading from european countries like Great Britain, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria all over the world. This spectacular ceramic Jugendstil Vase with important metalwork, I believe is either German or Austrian in origin. It is in amazing original condition. Look closely at the repeated curved lines, influenced and created during the time of the famous Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt. The combination of ceramic glaze, decoration with the addition of the metal decorative handles makes this an important museum period piece. The real Art Nouveau era lasted for about 25 years from 1895 until 1920.
