Art Deco Collection Custom Carpet - Circles and Waves
One of the more famous designs, although attributed to Henry Stephany, called ‘Circles and Waves’, it was first shown on the stand of the Studio Ruhlmannn at the 1928 Salon des Artistes-Decorateurs. This has been a very popular design for us. The symmetrical style allows for adjusting the pattern to be used for just about any size. We have me this up as large as 16 feet long.
Bio on Ruhlmann, Emile-Jacques Paris 1879-1933
French designer, painter and building contractor. Ruhlmann exhibited wallpaper and furniture at the Paris salons from 1910. Post-was, a partnership with Pierre Laurent left him free to devote most of his time to the decorating department of his Paris firm, which employed up to twenty young designers at a time. Ruhlmann also consulted freelance designers including Ivan Da Silva Bruhns (a very important rug designer). Studio Ruhlmann retailed a wide range of floral medallion and geometric designs.
