The Latécoère 28 dated from 1929 Version 28-3, was the holder of many records seaplane and winner of the South Atlantic, it is closely associated with his famous pilot Jean Mermoz. The first crossing of the South Atlantic could be attempted by Jean Mermoz, J. and L. Dabry Nimié on 12 and 13 May 1930, with the prototype No. 909 (F-AJNQ) called "Count de La Vault".
