Sabino Art Deco Modernist Stepped Original Chrome Sconces Pair 1930s
Rare Pair of Sabino Art Deco Modernist Chrome and Frosted Glass Sconces, Circa 1930s
This rare pair of Art Deco wall sconces was designed by Sabino of Paris, France, circa the 1930s. Each fixture combines an original frosted glass panel with highly polished chrome metalwork, creating a bold Modernist design with a strong architectural presence.
The unusual stepped chrome treatment echoes the horizontal bands molded into the glass. Ribbed metal details along both outer edges allow the light to radiate from the left and right sides, while the illuminated frosted glass produces a warm, diffused glow across the front.
Fully installed, these substantial sconces would provide both practical and ambient lighting in a commercial interior, great room, open loft, industrial showroom, or dramatic entrance hall. Sabino is celebrated for its refined French Art Deco glass, and this distinctive model is especially rare and seldom seen.
