A striking pair of original Art Deco wall sconces featuring a dramatic zigzag design with geometric sunburst details and stylized decorative scrollwork. Made of aluminum, the sconces have an unusual antique silver finish that gives the metal warmth, texture, and character.
The amber colored backing is made of mica, a material frequently used in lighting during the Art Deco period. When illuminated, the mica produces a warm, flattering glow. The sconces may also be fitted with white or amber bulbs depending on the desired effect and setting.
Dating to circa 1930, these sconces are remarkably modern in both their material and construction. Their bold molded aluminum forms beautifully reflect the fascination with geometry, movement, and modern industrial materials that defined the period.
Two matching pairs are currently available. All four would look especially impressive together in one room, or the pairs could be used in adjoining spaces such as a living room and dining room. They mount easily to the wall and are priced at $2,000 per pair.
