A classic French Art Deco round coffee table with an inset glass top and an elegant sculptural base. The refined proportions and gently curved tripod legs recall the sophisticated furniture designs of Jules Leleu and other important French designers of the period.
Three substantial curved supports rise from the extended tripod base to hold the circular top, creating an open and beautifully balanced silhouette. The wooden surround features a carved horizontal edge detail framing the removable glass insert.
At the point where the three legs intersect is an unusual built in compartment concealed beneath a removable circular cover. It could be used for discreet storage, a small decorative plant, or another imaginative display.
Recently restored, the rich wood finish beautifully emphasizes the table’s sweeping curves and architectural construction. Strong and supportive, it would work wonderfully in front of a sofa, between two lounge chairs, or as a distinctive center table in a home or office.
