This classic 1936 Zenith Model 6S27 tombstone radio is an impressive example of American Art Deco design. Its substantial cabinet, richly figured wood veneer, dramatic illuminated dial, and distinctive fleur de lis speaker grille helped make the model an immediate success when it was originally offered for $59.95.
The cabinet has been professionally refinished and presents beautifully, highlighting the warm tones and natural grain of the wood. The radio retains its original wooden control knobs and has been fitted with the correct replacement grille cloth and dial. The restored chassis is exceptionally clean and contains the appropriate components.
