Western Air Patrol 76 Bluetooth Restored Vintage Art Deco Radio

Item #3199 SOLD

Manufactured in 1935 by the Gilfillan Bros. Inc. of Los Angeles, these radios were sold by the Western Auto Supply Stores for the California and West Coast markets. This seven-tube, three-band chassis (SB, SWx2) by replacing the old capacitors with the new long-lasting caps of equal values as well as the out-of-tolerance resistors. The tubes have all been replaced with new (NOS) tubes because a radio like this deserves the best. The radio has its original 8-inch Jensen speaker, knobs, and grille cloth. Blake commented on how well the radio performed with a tuned RF circuit. An 8-ft antenna and safety fuse have been added. Gary professionally refinished the cabinet back to a “factory like-new” semi-gloss finish of the Ebony, Mahogany, and Walnut veneers.

This radio has been fitted with a 1/8 inch adapter which will allow you to use this with your iPhone, smartphone, iPod, or record player. Access your old vinyl, or log on to  Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, or the playlist on your computer to provide the tunes and use the Bluetooth connection to bring the warm, bright, analog sound of a tube amplifier to any music or recordings you choose.
