Telechron General Electric 6H50 “Jason” Art Deco Solid Brass Clock
Telechron General Electric 6H50 “Jason” Art Deco Solid Brass Clock
This handsome Art Deco electric clock is the Telechron General Electric Model 6H50, known as the “Jason.” Its strong architectural form features a rectangular solid brass case resting on two spherical feet above a long, streamlined base.
The distinctive face has elongated geometric numerals set against a finely lined background. Black sculptural hands and a small red accent above the center complete its clean modernist appearance. The combination of geometric detailing, warm polished brass and balanced proportions makes this an especially attractive example of American Art Deco clock design.
The clock has been carefully serviced and reinvigorated. The movement and case were completely disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. The rotor was drilled and filled with the correct amount of automatic transmission fluid. The coil was wrapped in glass tape and coated with liquid electrical tape. The electrical cord and plug were replaced for continued use, while the remainder of the clock is original. The solid brass case was also cleaned and polished.
The clock is currently operating as originally intended and would make a striking addition to an Art Deco desk, mantel, library or bedside table.
