French Art Deco Silvered Bronze Mantel Clock by C. Terras, 1925
French Art Deco Silvered Bronze Mantel Clock by C. Terras, 1925
This rare French Art Deco mantel clock was created by C. Terras in approximately 1925. Crafted from silvered bronze, it features a distinctive architectural form with a gently domed top, rectangular base, and unusual undulating lower rim.
A deeply modeled geometric floral band extends across the front and surrounds the rectangular silvered dial. Stylized Arabic numerals and geometric hands complete the composition, while the contrasting polished and darkened surfaces accentuate the clock’s sculptural details. The signature “C. Terras” appears on the lower right corner.
The clock retains its original French eight day striking movement and is complete with its original pendulum and key. It is accompanied by its matching garnitures, creating an impressive and beautifully coordinated French Art Deco mantel set.
