French Art Deco Egyptian Revival Bronze Statue in Gold

Item # 2400 SOLD
Measurements
15" T x 9" W

Stunning Gold Art Deco Egyptian bronze figure  postured in a dance ready position, arms in the air. High quality bronze with fine detailing and newly restored gold "ore" finish. Delicate features, beautiful face with full head dress, bracelets and skirt. Her arms outstretched posturing the style associated with Egyptian revival images. During this period, the influence on clothing, dance and style gave women and artists a new inspiration from which to use this ancient Egyptian art form.

This piece is from the 1930s, it is unsigned but in the tradition of artists like Lorenzel, Morante, Guerbe, Fayral, Le Faguays and many from the Le Verrier tradition. She sits on a sturdy natural marble and onyx base which gives the piece some height and that elegant look. It helps to reinforce the drama the artist intended.
