Art Deco Light Statue by Max Le Verrier
Truly, this is the most iconic of all Art Deco sculptures. Created by Max LeVerrier in 1928, the dark green patinated petite bronze figure of a slender woman holding a lighted globe aloft and standing on a marble pedestal is possibly the most famous image of the period.
The bobbed hairstyle was so “modern” in the year this was rendered, but the essence of the sculpture references ancient Greek and Roman goddesses in statuary. Live models for this piece made in France were dancers including one from the Josephine Baker Revue performing in Paris at that time.
This lamp/sculpture entitled Clarte has an alabaster globe casting soft illumination.. It has been rewired for use in the United States and is guaranteed to light up your life!
