An iconic Art Deco advertising poster by the legendary Italian-born French poster artist Leonetto Cappiello, created in 1929 for Le Bas Revel, a French hosiery company based in Lyon. This massive three-sheet lithograph, measuring an impressive 126 inches tall by 81 inches wide, was printed by Devambez, Paris, and is linen-backed and professionally mounted for preservation and display.
The striking design features three stylish women—leggy, poised, and vivacious—each donning a different vibrant outfit as they simultaneously try on stockings. Their limbs crisscross in rhythmic movement across a deep blue background, playfully highlighting the product's elegant fit and flexibility. Cappiello’s composition is bold and theatrical, capturing the exuberance of late 1920s fashion and feminine independence with modern flair.
This original poster is an outstanding example of Cappiello’s later work, when his advertising imagery became more simplified and direct, relying on bold color contrasts and motion rather than ornate detail. Posters of this scale were intended for public display in train stations or boulevards, but few survive in such exceptional condition.
