Rare Clarice Cliff "English" Modernist Art Deco Ceramic Tea Service

Wonderful modernist repeat circle pattern design by Clarice Cliff for Newport Pottery Co England, circa 1930. She may be the most famous name for English ceramic designs, a real genius of the period (sometimes referred to as The original Bizarre Girl). Clarice Cliff designs have not only surpassed the idea of “Art Deco” but more then any other single person, help to create the Art Deco aesthetic. There are many books written on her work and designs, with web sites dedicated to the history and information for collectors of all concerns. This is a simple, but elegant 6 piece set, each piece is marked with the Clarice Cliff signature and the condition is excellent.
