The silver marks  read “Quist” with a star above and “Plata Fasce” in a shield below. The Quist Silver Company was founded in Esslingen, Germany in 1866 and then became the F.W.Quist Metal Works in 1890. The name Plata Fasce means “silver bands” in Italian .This champagne cooler does combine the excellent silver plate technique perfected in Germany with the influence of both Bauhaus and Italian design from the Art Deco Era.
