A silver champagne bucket with "Jugendstil" Art Nouveau embellishment done in repousse technique. Repousse is a way of pressing a design into the metal from the back side, giving the piece an embossed decoration. This cooler is a great example of the way the Jugendstil ,Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts movements evolved with the clean lines that were the precursor to Art Deco.
This is in terrific condition inside and out, with two robust handles on either side. Nice markings on the bottom indicate that this may be a piece from WMF and wouldn't this look wonderful on your holiday table?
