Art Deco Silver-plate Jewelry Box Modernist with Carnelian Stone

Art Deco box by P. Plasait Orfèvre, a hinged jewelry box with Carnelian Stone. Newly silverplated finish with a modernist approach. A simple style box that can be used for trinkets, jewelry, cigarettes or whatever you can imagine. Sophisticated ribbed design on the top which intersects a nice size carnelian stone.

Clean design and shape inside and out. Signed on the bottom P.Plasait Orfèvre, quality manufacturers from France, known for many styles of boxes, coffee-tea service, soup tureens in both silver-plate and sterling. This piece is signed for Pierre Amedee Plasait who worked for the Orfèvre company, You also see designs signed B. Plasait from a little later period but we do not know for sure if they were related.
