is straight-foward enough with its nifty on-off switch and Modernist/Streamline scalloped riser. The shade however is another story. It rotates 270˚ degrees to provide varying degrees of out-lighting, down-lighting and back-lighting. The effect is useful, striking and damn clever all at the same time. This lamp is a great size for a desk, console or side table and it shines brightly whether it's on or off.
