Rare Lawson Model 975 Silver, Lucite & Onyx Clock
A rare and highly collectible Art Deco electric table clock by Lawson Time Co. of Pasadena, California, Model 975, circa 1930. This early cyclometer digital clock is housed in a silver-plated case with stepped skyscraper-style Lucite accents and mounted on a solid white onyx base, an iconic example of American Machine Age design. I think one of the best Art Deco clock designs.
The numeric flip-style display, marked “Lawson,” rotates smoothly and was an innovative feature in its time. The manufacturer's metal plate on the back confirms its Pasadena origin along with the model number. Combining high style with technical ingenuity, this Lawson Model 975 offers both sculptural elegance and early electric timekeeping in one refined object. A striking addition to any Art Deco interior or serious collection with an interest in important American designs of the period.
