Art Deco Glass Globe Light for Table Top or Ceiling

An Art Deco globe light fixture that can be used either as a table top lamp or a ceiling fixture. Done in the great French tradition of frosted glass  cascading "petals"  in deep relief pattern, mounted in a beautiful nickel octagon base with "zig zag " sculptural detail. This piece, although not signed, has all the styling of those done by Lalique, Sabino and Simonet Freres.

As lighting fully  transitioned from gas lamps to electric in the 1920's, there was a wealth of lighting styles created and the French perfected the marriage of moulded glass forms with interesting, stylized metalwork.
