Item #1670 SOLD
Magnificent hand-hammered copper arts and crafts, secessionist era Chandelier, circa 1910 — European or American in origin. Dramatic configuration and what a special mood this light will be put you in. The fixture includes twelve 3/4″ opalescent chunky jewels (identical to Tiffany Studios). Also, twelve 1 3/4″ red chunky glass jewels and four 3 1/2″ opalescent chunky oval jewels, likely from the same maker as the 3/4″ icebergs. milk glass center panel, cut corner, glass straw enclosures four corner lights with glass straw enclosures.
The riveted hammered copper work is of rare quality, nice original patina and even the chains are hand-hammered. There are four canopy lights! Even though the fixture is not signed, it obviously was made with a sensitivity to detail and design. Definitely 12 Tiffany jewels embedded in this dynamic light, it certainly leads one to consider that it might actually have been done by Tiffany. Since we do not know for sure (yet), it is something certainly worth investigating. This fixture is in amazing original condition, does not need a thing, but the right room.
