Donald Deskey Design 3 Piece Art Deco Living Room Sofa Suite. A very fine and rare example of Donald Deskey’s Streamline Art Deco Industrial designs. Inspired by the originals and produced in limited edition in the 1980s. A rare combination of colors and immaculately preserved. Well constructed and upholstered in baby pink and black Naugahyde with grey piping and chrome accents.
This iconic design has become quite rare even with this production which was done over 50 years ago. The quality is great, very comfortable. There is one minor tear on the back of one of the chairs, which has been repaired, photos are enclosed. The set overall is in fine original condition.
Donald Deskey (the visionary behind Radio City Music Hall), he went on to establish a design consulting firm in New York City and later the firm of Deskey-Vollmer (in partnership with Phillip Vollmer), which specialized in furniture and textile design. His designs in this era progressed from Art Deco to Streamline Moderne.
