Ivoroid Inlaid Original Art Deco Secretary desk 1930′s

This is an outstanding piece art deco secretary desk which we’ve been after for many years. Probably French in origin, and a stunning example of Art Deco marquetry using ivory and or ivoroid edging accentuated with a pull down bubble motif on the front. 3 keys supplied with ivory buttons. This piece has all of the quality, consistency and integrity of a very useful art deco Secretary desk design. The inside is very stable with double metal hinges and wood supports that also come out when the desk top is lowered (this is a great feature). A nice inlaid leather writings surface and the inside has nice compartments, drawers and cozy cubby holes for storage. Additionally, there are 4 drawers logically placed below the drop down lid (all with locks that work). The base or lower part of the desk is also beautifully executed with a half round almost U shape structure which has inlay on the bottom, complimenting the total design.
