A substantial vintage wicker lounge chair with a dramatic high back, beautifully rounded arms, and a matching upholstered footstool. Possibly made by McGuire, the chair has the weight, detailed wicker panels, and quality construction associated with finely made Bodega Bay style lounge furniture.
The set retains its wonderful original Art Deco fabric, featuring a bold pattern of stylized leaves in shades of brown, peach, cream, and other warm neutral tones. We had enough of the vintage material to combine it with rich brown mohair, preserving the period appearance while giving the upholstery a finished and luxurious quality.
The set includes three separate custom made cushions for the back, seat, and footstool. Each cushion is finished with piping to help maintain its shape and is reversible, allowing it to be used on either side.
Comfortable, stylish, and full of character, this is the perfect chair for sitting back with a book and your favorite libation, whether that means tea, coffee, a Negroni, or wherever your imagination takes you. It would be equally inviting in a bedroom near a window, a living room with its own small reading table, or a comfortable library corner.
