Lawson Zephyr Electric Clock, 1937 – Brass, Copper & Celluloid – Restored and Working

A striking example of American Streamline Moderne design, this original Lawson Zephyr Electric Clock, model 304, was produced in 1937 by Lawson Time, Inc. Featuring a copper body with brass accents, glass front, and celluloid digital time flaps, this fully restored clock is in excellent working condition. The movement uses a synchronous electric motor that flips the numeral cards precisely on the minute—an early example of digital analog timekeeping. Machine Age Design, very desirable for collectors in this condition.

Designed by Paul Fehér and George Adomaitis, the Lawson Zephyr is often misattributed to Kem Weber due to its sleek aerodynamic silhouette and machine-age styling. A similar model is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Art (MFA) in Boston, a testament to its design significance. This rare and iconic piece is ideal for collectors of industrial design, Art Deco, and early American electric clocks.
