Longwy Cloisonné Art Deco Vase

French Art Deco Longwy Cloisonné  Vase. Designed during the important period of Longwy Art Deco production. This is a very rare piece, unusual gord shape that was reproduced specifically for me in 1990 almost 30 years ago.  It was never a production piece again. The company stopped making their great decorative pieces like vases, plates, jardinieres and continued only to produce ceramics for lamp bases.

I had the privilege to visit the factory at that time and had a few pieces made from the original molds. This is one of those pieces and clearly marked on the bottom. Ceramic cloisonné by Longwy and Boch-Freres are some of my favorite ceramics. They represent the end of an era of  hand made production.
