Boch Catteau Matt Finish Ultra Rare Model Art Deco
Item #3591
Boch Catteau Matt Finish Ultra Rare Model Art Deco. This is the first time I’ve seen this pattern not found listed in any of the books. It’s got stars, geometry, and nice warm colors. It was undoubtedly designed during Charles Catteau’s supervision. This hand-painted vase in matte enamel may be an experimental piece, although the very pleasing shape is seen as a typical vase shape. I tried to find this pattern through all the books on Boch and Catteau.
Blessed with an overabundance of stars and shapes, stamped on the bottom with a typical wolf mark and a pair of initials, most likely the designer “MF”? These matt finishes are one of my favorites, I identify them as many other ceramic finishes produced throughout France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
