French Art Deco Illuminated Sculpture by Pierre Le Faguays

Item # 2505 SOLD
Measurements
19" T x 7" D x 5.5" W

This beautiful art deco lamp-statue titled 'Esclave a l'Urne' was created by Pierre Le Faguays in the 1930s. It features a beautiful young topless Maiden wearing a skirt and a turban, she's standing on a stepped base with woven rug and holding an amber crackled glass vase. There is wonderful detail throughout this amazing work of art, it is signed by the artist Le Faguays and stamped made in France. There is also a number 33 stamped underneath the base, possibly referring to the year?

The sculpture most likely made in the Le Verrier atelier, using his special petite bronze material,  has a cold painted verdigris finish. The shade is amber crackled glass, it holds a candelabra bulb and it fits Loosely around her hands. The lamp is mounted to the original marble base, primarily black with hints of green and cream. The cord is a vintage style replacement in matching green, with an inline switch and Bakelite plug.
