Art Deco Sculpture of a Man Rowing a Boat by Ouline
Item #2354 SOLD
A powerful bronze sculpture, an interpretation of a man rowing a boat on rippling waters is by the artist Alexandre Ouline. It dates from the late 1920′s . The beautifully rendered features – hair tousled by the wind, mouth set in determination, muscles straining against the elements of nature make this an exceptionally fine piece.
The signature is in the waves beneath the boat, and it is mounted on a black marble base veined in white.
Alexandre Ouline (sometimes signing his work Oudine or Ondine) worked in bronze and metal sculptures from 1918-1940.
