Wladyslaw Roguski (1890-1940) was a Polish artist known for his contributions to the Art Deco movement, particularly in the realm of portraiture. His works are highly regarded for their intricate details, elegant compositions, and the distinctive Art Deco style that was prevalent during his time.
This piece was towards the end of his career and was created in 1937 using watercolor on paper, it is of significant historical and artistic value. This particular piece we are offering has a unique treatment using color, cubism, Asian, and classic Art Deco motifs in an original stylized portrait that is dynamic, personal, and very original. The art is framed using museum glass, a restored original solid carved & gilded frame. The piece was just recently purchased in Poland and shipped directly to our showroom and is being offered for the first. Signed in the lower center by the artist.
