Rare French Glass Champagne Bucket by A.Riecke
Item #914 SOLD
Extremely rare modernist glass by Russian artist living in Paris. Piece bears the date (1935) and signature of the artist. This is originally from the famous French restaurant La Coupole in Montparnasse district of Paris where many renown artists of the 20s and 30s gathered to dine and several have left a legacy of art painted on the walls and columns of this legendary cafe. This unusual champagne/wine bucket is part of a series of pieces done in 1935, embellished with glass and silver balls. Very impressive in its size :18″ tall X 6″ wide at the bottom and 18″ opening at the top, with a striking vertical and horizontal etched design. This would also make a stunning centerpiece filled with florals.
