Dinanderie Art Deco Pair of Vases Series Evolution by Paul Mergier
Dinanderie Art Deco Pair of Vases Series Evolution by Paul Mergier. Engraved with Evolution mark of descending triangles each numbered as a set 365/1805 each inlaid with linear and geometric motifs. Attributed to Paul Louis Mergier (1891-1986) who designed many works for the Evolution series in the 1920's -30s all in the French Art Deco dinanderie style.
The dinanderie technique, founded in the Flemish town of Dunant hundreds of years ago involves the hand-shaping and inlay of metal (including brass, copper, and bronze) into various objects. Condition overall good, considering their age with a few tiny surface indents in each piece, hard to see directly.
