Rare French Iron & Moulded Glass Lamps Pair

An extremely rare pair of Art Deco table lamps of iron and glass circa 1925. This unique design is of a quality and refinement not often seen in a matching pair. The moulded French glass has been designed especially to fit on these custom made iron bases. Many times lamps are found that are a "marriage" of a glass shade and an iron base that were not specifically created to be together but look just fine. In this case, the metalwork and glass art were created to complement each other and that takes it to another level !

Although not signed, the glass is certainly of a quality to match Degue, Muller, Hettier & Vincent and Schneider glass. Even without a signature, the importance and beauty  shine through these lamps.

The iron work is  also of  the quality of Edgar Brandt and Paul Kiss. Though they are not signed, they represent the high point in French style  reached  during the mid 1920's  thus  embodying the synthesis of rich materials, old-school workmanship and the new design direction which later became known as the Art Deco Movement. Take special note of the double bulbs for each fixture which are quite unusual,and the special hand hammered iron fittings that hold the glass to the top of the lamp. These fittings and details  let you know that  the manufacturing and production of these lamps  is something special.

This pair  would be perfect  as matching bedside night stand lights or imagine them flanking a sofa in the living room or balancing an Art Deco buffet. They are going to make someone's home very cozy indeed !
