Item #2786 SOLD
Iconic Art Deco image by Max Le Verrier. Lueur light, the smallest Clarte sculpture. High-quality statue made with glass, spelter and marble. Originally created in 1928. this particular model was made in the 21st century executed using the original molds by the original Le Verrier atelier. Signed on the base using the green verdigris patina.
The bobbed hairstyle was so “modern” in the year this was rendered, but the essence of the sculpture references ancient Greek and Roman goddesses in statuary. Live models for this piece made in France were dancers including one from the Josephine Baker Revue performing in Paris at that time.
