Art Deco Iron Table Lamp with Muller Style Glass Shade
Item #2987
A classic Art Deco Lamp with the unique moulded Muller glass shade and refined “for forge” ironwork base. This style of glass, thickly made and richly carved that was made popular in the 1920s by French designers such as Lalique, Daum and Galle as well as Muller Freres shows off the decorative use of geometric “deco” shapes done in ” verre satine”- satin glass.
The iron base has a nice “beaded” detail and an interesting texture. A subtle ivory tone when lit gives a flattering illumination
and this would be a perfect bedside lamp or a accent piece.
Muller Freres was much more than just the two “brothers” who originally worked with Galle before forming their own glassworks. Many members of the Muller family worked together to produce the wide range of Art Nouveau and Art Deco lamps and vases in their studios in Luneville.
