Art Deco-Styled Chandelier Featuring 6-pointed Jewish Star Design
Art Deco-styled chandelier featuring a 6-pointed Jewish Star design, possibly with historical or cultural references to the Maccabees, a vintage aesthetic. Purchased in Argentina from a private club in Mendoza called Club Macabee circa 1940. The construction is very well made and can be hung from a chain as we did or flush mounted to a ceiling, either way works.
For those modernists, this has all the geometry and zig zags you could ever want. Each point has a triangular textured glass. The center which pulls out for ease of changing bulbs has a semi-round globe with center starburst and circular details all around.
The 6-pointed star is also known as the Star of David, which is a significant symbol in Judaism. It consists of two overlapping triangles, forming a six-pointed star shape. It holds great religious and cultural importance for Jewish people and is often used as a symbol of Judaism.
