French Art Deco tubular chrome armchair with black leather upholstered seat and back cushion, designed by R.C. COQUERY for THONET, Model #B 256 lounge chair, 1929-1930. Very rare French Bauhaus era lounge chairs, the tilted frame is made of bent, welded, and chromed tubular steel. The very comfortable deep sprung-upholstered seat and backrest are covered in the original leather. Solid tubular chromed steel construction throughout. Very rare to have a pair in good original condition with original wood arm rests. Extremely heavy from the period and original in every way.
