A spectacular use of iron and alabaster in an art deco styled lamp custom made for us  by an amazingly skilled artisan who has mastered the French "fer forge technique" . The strength and power of iron is paired with the delicate beauty of Italian Alabaster in this beautiful piece.

Alabaster is  staglamitic limestone, a mineral substance used throughout even ancient history to create vessels , sculptures and even windows in its finest form. It allows light to pass through it, and the graining and veining gives it a unique effect.

The Paris Exposition of 1925 was a time of unprecedented creativity and iron, as it was used by Edgar Brandt, Raymond Subes and Paul Kiss to form furniture, gates, and lamps took on a whole new point of view. For many years we have collected books and magazines and photographs that illustrated this explosion of iron artistry.  We are so fortunate to have found a place to have things hand wrought for ArtDecoCollection based on these great designs.
